# Configure a transfer to a file storage destination

```python Python
import requests
url = "https://<your-bobsled-environment>.bobsled-cloud-api.com/api/v1/shares/{shareID}/transfers"
payload = {"data": {
              "type": "oneTime",
              "transferEntity": [{
                  "entityType": "files",
                  "pathNames": ["S3://mybucket/folder1/", "S3://mybucket/folder2/", "S3://mybucket/folder3/"]
              }],
              "options": { "transferNow": False }
            }
          }
headers = {
    "accept": "application/json",
    "content-type": "application/json",
    "sled-client-id": "277c809d-10cb-494d-bc0d-b6e",
    "authorization": "Bearer bearer token value"
}
response = requests.post(url, json=payload, headers=headers)
print(response.json)
```

```json Response Example
{
  "data": {
    "transfer": {
      "id": "<transfer ID>",
      "createdAt": 0,
      "lastTransferStatus": "created"
    }
  }
}
```

# Call the create a transfer endpoint with share name in the path

<!-- python@3 -->

Use the create a transfer endpoint and add the ID of the share as a path variable. The share must have a file storage destination to send data as files.

Please be sure to include your specific Bobsled environment name.

# Define payload dictionary to configure the transfer

<!-- python@5-13 -->

Create a payload dictionary containing the data to be sent in the request body. This payload represents a transfer configuration for a share.

# Set the type of transfer - One-time or automated

<!-- python@6 -->

The "type" body parameter defines what time of transfer you are sending. A one-time or a transfer on an automated basis. Automated transfers run once every 5 minutes, Bobsled will check to see if there are changes to the selected folder paths and synchronize any new, updated, or deleted files to the destination.

Please see documentation for more information on types of transfers.

# Create the transfer entity

<!-- python@7-10 -->

The transferEntity will configure ONE transfer. If you are configuring a transfer to file storage, the transferEntity may only have one object where you can specify multiple files/folder

# Set the transfer entity type to files

<!-- python@8 -->

When you are sending data as files to a file storage destination, then set the entityType to "files".

# Configure the data files to transfer

<!-- python@9 -->

Using the pathNames array, specify the files/folders to send. Use the full path for each file/folder from your source bucket

# Configure when to send transfer - Now or later

<!-- python@11 -->

Use the transferNow option to configure if the transfer should be created and sent through this request or if you would rather send the transfer later using the "Start/Resume a transfer endpoint"

# Set required headers

<!-- python@17-18 -->

Every request to a resource endpoint requires the custom "sled-client-id" header and your client ID value in addition to the authorization bearer token generated using the "generate token" endpoint.
